Ondo state government has approved the nomination of the Onipele of Ipele kingdom in Owo local government area and also the nomination of warrant chiefs designate for the vacant stool in Ifon and Akunu community areas of Ondo state.

Acting Governor , Lucky Ayedatiwa announced the approval shortly after the state executive council meeting.

Addressing journalists the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Mr Gboyega Adefarati said the approval became necessary to foster peace in the various communities.

Mr Adefarati disclosed that the council approved the nomination of chief Victor Olusegun as the new Olupele of Ipele in line with the culture and tradition of the people.

He further confirmed the nomination of twelve warrant chiefs designate from twelve ruling houses in Ifon community in Ose local government area of the state who are to partake in the process of selecting the new Olufon of Ifon.

Also,six warrant chiefs were nominated to partake in the process of selecting a new Monarch to occupy the vacant stool of the Oluade of Akunu Akoko in Akoko North east local government area of Ondo state.
