The Christian Association of Nigeria in Ondo State has urged Christian faithful to focus on the purpose for which our creator has come to redeem us.

In his Easter message to all Christians in the State, Chairman of the State chapter, Rev. Father Anselm Olorunfemi Ologunwa said, as in time memorial, this year’s celebration also brings us all into the mystery of our redemption, hence Easter celebrations is a unique feast, that assures us of the course of eternity with Christ.

A statement by the Director of information and Communications of the association, Brother Daisi Ajayi, said the Chairman describes Easter season as GoodNews from the graveyard where words of assurance and hope of the future in Christ are achieved.

He said from this GoodNews comes our hope that we have been raised along with Jesus Christ.

Describing Easter as a unique festival period where despair turns to joy and hopelessness to purposeful living, Rev. Father Ologunwa said the celebration also reverses our condemnation after the fall of Adam.

He advised our leaders against shirking their responsibilities and delegating powers bestowed on them.

The CAN chairman reminds all Christians that as they celebrate Easter, they should love one another and open their hearts to God.

He called on Christians to reflect more on their words, attitudes and actions regularly and be seen as Christ’s ambassadors at all times.

Rev. Father Ologunwa prayed for continued peace in our land and divine orientation of all well-meaning Nigerians to be more committed to total emancipation of the down trodden and support the urgent call for recognition of the sanctity of human lives in our land.

The CAN chairman prayed for the release of Holy Spirit to guide our leaders at all levels in order to be committed to the task of rebuilding our nation from imminent collapse.

He urged all men of God not to relent in their prayers for Nigeria especially to bring back peace to the nation.
