The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council has joined stakeholders in the media industry to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Radio Nigeria Positive 102.5 FM, Akure.

Positive FM was Inaugurated on 20th April, 2002 by the then President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a Congratulatory Message to the Management and Staff of the Radio outfit signed by the Union’s Chairman, Comrade Leke Adegbite and the Acting Secretary, Mrs Ngozi Aduloju, Ondo NUJ extolled the professionalism of the station in the last two decades.

The Union notes that Positive FM establishment liberalised broadcasting industry in the Sunshine State and it has not disappointed its teeming listeners.

The Union is happy that the station has done well so far to influence and impact positively in uplifting the people and uniting the nation.

While felicitating the FRCN management and staff for upholding core professional ethos of journalism without compromising since inception, Ondo NUJ pointed out that the Station had bridged the gap between government and the people through regular grassroots news and programmes.

The Union uses the anniversary occasion to appeal to the Federal Government to allocate special funds to revamp facilities and equipment at its media outfits especially FRCN FM stations nationwide with special attention on Positive FM to enable them serve the public efficiently.
