It was another moment of joy for staff , audience and friends of Radio Nigeria as Positive FM, Akure marked its twentieth anniversary.
The evening of honour for Radio Nigeria Positive FM witnessed encomiums poured in for the station during the grand finale of it’s 20th anniversary held in Akure the Ondo State capital.
In the carnival like anniversary, the members of staff of the FM station were all gorgeously and uniformly dressed in Adire attire.
Ondo state governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN represented by the chairman, OSRC media group, Mr Kunle Adebayo affirmed that positive FM had remained professionally unbiased and envied by other broadcasting stations.
The special guest of honor and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi commended radio Nigeria for its unbiased reportage while also deepening the country’s rich cultural heritage
Oba Ogunwusi represented by the Agbolu of Agbaje-Ife said Radio Nigeria’s positive FM had greatly shaped the society with its grassroots reportage, cultural and entertainment programmes.
Oba Adeyeye who is an ardent listener of Positive FM urged radio Nigeria to continue her leadership roles in broadcasting and grassroots development.
Also speaking, the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan zonal station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph commended the members of staff for being industrious and grassroots oriented.
Mrs Joseph encouraged positive FM audience to keep listening to the station with assurance that radio Nigeria would remain steadfast.
Earlier, the general manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere who could not hide her joy recognized the supports she hitherto derived from the audience, members of staff and the past leadership of the FM station promising that Positive FM would continue to impact positively on the society based on the vision and mission of Radio Nigeria.
Other members of staff including the past general managers and media managers who attended the occasion appreciated God for seeing them through in all ramifications.
Some ardent listeners described positive FM as their veritable source of information urging the workers to sustain the tempo.
The anniversary Chairman, Mr Olumide Abudu expressed joy that Positive FM did not only clock 20 years but still leading and vibrant among other FM stations in the state.
Highpoints of the event included cultural display, dinner and awards as well as cutting of anniversary’s cake.
Inaugurated on Saturday twentieth of April, 2002 by former president, chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Positive FM is one of the thirty-two FM stations established to connect government to the grassroots.
