The onibuji of Ibuji In Ifedore Local government area of Ondo state, Oba Folagbade Ojo has described the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi the third as a rare gem who will be missed by the entire yoruba race and Nigeria in general.
Oba Ojo while reacting to the passing of the first class monarch said Oba Alaafin was not only a custodian of yoruba’s culture and tradition but projected such round the world, putting the yoruba race on a high pedestal.
He noted that the late monarch did not compromise peace during his reign as the entire Oyo community was never in turmoil rather he ensured that his people co-existed peacefully.
Oba ojo said ” Alaafin, Oba Adeyemi was a peace lover, a he showcased love, peace and royalty throughout his reign, this did not only bring honour to the yoruba nation but also made it a force to reckon with even by foreigners . He exemplified real royalty and took the Yoruba culture every where especially through his dressing and the paraphenalia of the throne. He was a collosus, we will surely miss him”.
Oba Folagbade Ojo commiserated with the people of Oyo town, Oyo State and the entire yoruba nation on the demise of oba Lamidi Adeyemi, praying God to give all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“No doubt we have lost a rare gem, all we can do is to keep his memory and legacies alive. Let me on behalf of the good people of ibuji Town commiserate with the entire yoruba race of the death of Oba Adeyemi, May his soul rest in peace” oba Ojo prayed.
