As the world celebrates world day for safety and health at work , Nigerians have been told to always work towards achieving social security in their work places.
The managing director, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, Dr Michael Akabogu gave the charge in a message to the event marking the day in Akure the ondo state capital.
Dr Akabogu represented by ondo state branch manager , NSITF Mr Adewale Adesanya pointed out that the agency was ready to help Nigerians in respect of hazards in work places.
He said they used the day to create awareness of the agency as a leading social security institution that set agenda for positive change in the life style of Nigerians
The Chief executive stressed that the agency was also involved in the provision of social security protection and safety nets against deprivations and income insecurity.
Other officials of NSITF Mrs Ester Adedipe, Mr Tunde Ṣeṣani and Mr. Olakanmi Olarewaju who commented on this year’s world safety and health at work day said they embarked on the show to sensitise Nigerians especially the Ondo State people to know that there is an agency established to cater for their welfare in their places of work
The theme for this years celebration is ” let’s act together to build a positive safety and health culture “
