Labour leaders in Ondo State have converged on Akure to celebrate this year’s worker’s day with soladirty song and dances.
The unions adorned different uniforms to announce each group as they marched to receive the salute of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The labour urged the state government to always make workers welfare a priority.
In a brief message, the National presidents of NLC and TUC, Comrades Ayuba Wabba and Olaleye Quadri represented by Ondo State NLC secretary, Comrade Kehinde Shado urged the workforce to join politics to better their lives.
In their separate addresses, Ondo State NLC and TUC CHAIRMEN, comrades Hellen Odofin and Oluwole Sunday represented by vice chairman Victor Akomo commended governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for securing the life of the people while demanding prompt payment of workers areas and salaries.
Some workers also urged the state government to see their welfare as priority
Addressing the workers, Ondo State governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by the commissioner for finance Mr Wale Akinterinwa challenged the workers to be involved in the redeemtion program of the government.
Governor Akeredolu also urged the workers to take good care of themselves being the productive class of the state.
This year worker’s day celebration was celebrated with the theme labour, politics and quest for good governance and development in Nigeria.
