The Federal Executive Council
has approved over two billion Naira for the purchase of 52 operational vehicles.for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC.
Minister of Interior, Interior, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola, who briefed State House correspondents on the approval, said it was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the agency to combat crimes and criminality in the country.
Also briefing newsmen, the Minister of State for Power, Jedy Agba, said FEC had approved 3 major contracts aimed at enhancing the performance of the national to improve power supply.
He explained that work on the line linking Benin, Oshogbo and Akure in Edo, Osun and Ondo States was one of the 3 to be awarded.
Also to be enhanced, according to the Agba, is the 133 kva in Akwanga and Lafia in Nasarawa State to strengthen the line to Abuja, explaining that the work would also improve power supply to Plateau and Benue States.
He assured that with the approval given, the grid would gradually be enhanced, and electricity supply to the country improved.
