Ondo state government is introducing a modern farming system to boost the economy of the state .
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made this known during a meeting in Akure with farmers, community heads and other stakeholders from Ofosu forest reserve in Idanre council area.

The governor represented by the special adviser on security and the commandant of amotekun Corps , Chief Adetunji Adeleye said government’s intention was to better the lives of farmers in the state with the introduction of modern farming system and agric companies that would open the area for employment opportunities, directly and indirectly.

Contributing, the senior special assistant to the governor on agriculture , Pastor Akin Olotu mentioned that government was planning to tap massively into the various agricultural produce in the state such as cocoa, rubber, oil palm and starting with Ofosu to meet up with the global best practice.

Speaking on behalf of the farmers ,a representative of Owa of Idanre , Oba Frederick Aroloye , Prof Olugbenga Samuel appealed for more sensitization and interface between government, investors and farmers to achieve the set target.
