Olowo Condemns Gunmen Attack On Construction Site, Commiserates With Families Of Victims

Following the unfortunate and needless violent attack on Owo Township road construction site yesterday by yet to be identified gunmen in which a security personnel (a Soldier) attached for the protection of the field workers and a driver were gruesomely murdered where a foreign personnel of the Company was forcefully taken away, and his whereabouts is yet unknown, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom And Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has appealed to the General public to be calm and go about their legitimate businesses without fear as security agencies are fully alerted and appropriate steps are now being taken.

The Traditional Ruler said, Ondo State Government has promised to bring the perpetrators of this dasdardly act to book while adequate protection will bẹ provided for the site workers and the Community to forestall future occurrence.

Oba Ogunoye, further, in a statement, signed and released by His Special Assistant Media,Sam Adewale, condemned in out right term the attack on the workers who are on their legitimate means of livelihood and service to Owo Kingdom as well as Ondo State at large.

The Monarch who on behalf of the Kingdom commiserates with the family of the deceased soldier and the driver, the construction Company, Nigerian Army and Ondo State Government over the incident,assured that,with the commitment of the State Government to the safety of lives and property of the people of the State, the perpetrators, in no distant time, will be arrested to face the wrath of the law.

Oba Ogunoye,therefore, admonishes the people to at all times report any strange faces and movements now and in future especially any of such that could lead to the whereabouts of the kidnapped foreign expertriate within their localities to the nearest Security Agencies for prompt action.
