Prince Aderin Adesida has emerged the All Progressives Congress, APC flag bearer for the Akure South-Akure north federal constituency having won the party’s primary held in Akure, the Ondo State’s capital

Prince Adesida polled 68 votes to defeat his closest rival Mayokun Alade who had 37 votes

Another aspirant, Oluwafemi Fadairo also scored five in the keenly contested exercise

Meanwhile, Mr Fadairo who came last in the contest had earlier demanded that his picture should appe NMar on the ballot paper before being rectified

Crisis however erupted when the chairman, house of representatives primary electoral committee, Mr Adeyemi Akola (rmd) was about to announce the results as some hoodlums dashed into the venue demanding cancellation of the primary election

The security operatives however overpowered the hoodlums through sporadic shootouts and teargas

INEC officials also monitored the exercise.
