The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Akure South Local Government congratulates all candidates elected for various positions ranging from House of Assembly, Akure South Constituency1&2, Akure North/South House of Representatives and Senatorial which Akure South was part in a just concluded primaries held early this week.
The elections which were done in an atmosphere of peace and order, a very transparent and credible exercise had all the delegates and aspirants in attendance; the peaceful manner of which the primary was conducted shows clearly that, we are ready to takeover the mantle of leadership come 2023 and beyond.
The party in a release made available through the secretary noted that, in every contest there must be a winner and as such, those who were able to sail through must be magnanimous in victory and others who finds it difficult to clinch the tickets must at the same time display spirit of sportsmanship in the interest of larger percentage of members and as well as the downtroddens who are eagerly waiting for us as a better alternative.
The statement further reads that, elections winning cannot be done in isolation, as we all need one and other to win and all hands must be on deck in order to ensure victory for our party, PDP at different levels of contests. The idea of pulling down syndrome after the party’s primary should be discarded if we are really on a mission to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians from its present challenges and predicaments.
However, the party called on the candidates to see everyone as theirs including those who do not part of the pre primary activities with them and supporters to refrain from comments that would further escalate already volatile situation. It’s time we bury our differences and work as a team in the interest of the party and benefit of our teeming members, party said.
The party while congratulating candidates elected to fly the party’s flag in Akure South for State Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial elections scheduled for next year, 2023, also reiterated it’s unequivocal committment toward ensuring reconciliatory committee are put in place as quickly as possible in order to address issues threatening our chances of winning next year election, as we cannot afford to further record another failure.
Unity is the key….
