As the 2023 general election is approaching, the association of ondo state indigenes in Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Edo states has urged its members to participate actively where they reside and vote for those that will affect their lives positively in the various states.
President-General of the Association, Sir Femi Ajijala gave the advice while speaking with Positive F.M in Akure.
Sir Ajijala said as Nigerians, they had the right to vote and be voted for wherever they reside in different parts of the country in as much as they registered with political parties and also got their permanent voter cards.
“Ondo state indigenes living in other states should get there permanent voter cards, that is where your power is, secondly, we are encouraging ondo state indigenes, wherever you live, if you believe you can make contributions there, contest election there because you have the right to vote and be voted for, you should also support candidates who are ready to appoint ondo indigenes in positions in other state” Ajijala Advised.

He advised ondo indigenes in other states to conduct themselves well during the forthcoming elections to truly reflect the good morals which the sunshine state is known for.
Sir Ajijala announced that the association would soon train ten thousand members in basic entreneurship and financial literacy to help interested people actualize their dream of empowering themselves and also create jobs.
He said “people will not wait for politicians when they are economically enpowered so we want to train our member on how they can be financially independent”
Also speaking, Secretary of the Association, Hon Akin Joye urged politicians to embark on projects that would bring smile to the faces of the people.
He said ” politicians should be able to give attention to the people who voted them into power through humanitarian gestures, things that would lift them out of poverty”
Hon Joye added that democracy would make more meaning to Nigerians if politicians had them at heart and be responsive to their needs.
