President Muhammadu Buhari declared that he has no preferred candidate to succeed him.

He made the expose during a meeting with 13 APC Governors of Northern States, who recommended that power be shifted to the south.

The President said he was determined to ensure that no candidate was imposition on the party.

He told the Governors the party was important and that its members must be respected, and made to feel important too.

The President said he had a clear mind about what he was doing and asked the APC governors to feel the same way, and allow the delegates to decide to avoid the imposition of a particular aspirant.

Earlier in their addresses, the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Governor Simon Bako Lalong and Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of the Progressive Governors Forum, said they had come to affirm the position of the Northern Governors that the party’s candidate in the presidential election shall come from the southern part of the country.
