Nigeria has defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 in the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers game.

Osimhen and Iwobi goals put Super Eagles ahead in the thrilling match at the 60,000 MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Thursday, June 9, 2022.

This will be the first competitive game for the Super Eagles of Nigeria under new boss Peseiro after losing to the El Tri of Mexico and Ecuador in international friendly games played in the United States of America (USA).

Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe are the other three teams in the group.

Nigeria and Sierra Leone both have one more match after tonight’s clash, before qualifying pauses until September.
