Wife of Ondo state governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has paid a condolence visit to St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State where over forty worshippers were brutally murdered and many others wounded during an attack on the church two weeks ago.

Mrs Akeredolu who also presented financial support to the church and survivors noted she shared very close ties with the Church where she was conferred with Humanity Member of CWO during mothering Sunday, last month.

She condemned the attack on innocent worshippers on the 5th of June describing it as horrible, horrendous and incomprehensible

The Parish Priest, Rev fr Victor Abani, noted that survivors of the massacre had begun psychotherapy as part of the recovery process from the trauma of the incident.

Speaking after taking the ondo First Lady’s around the ward, Head of the Emergency Operating Center in charge of the response to mass casualties of the church attack, Dr Oladele Ayodeji, said that there were total of 131 victims Adding that 8 survivors are in St Louis Hospital while 33 also on admission at FMC Owo.

Dr Ayodeji said all the patients were recuperating well.

While appreciating Mrs Akeredolu for the visit to the survivors, Dr Ayodeji noted that it would Serve as an encouragement to them.

The President of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), of St Francis Catholic Church, Owo who also witnessed the ugly scenario on June 5 described the attack as very traumatic, noting that the church had set up a committee to assist church members physically affected by the attack.
