The Deputy Inspector General of police incharge of Ekiti State Governorship election, Mr Johnson Kokumo has described today’s exercise as a huge success in terms of security arrangement.
Briefing newsmen in Ado Ekiti after monitoring the poll in the state capital and Ikere, Mr Kokumo said the exercise was 95% successful apart from few reported cases of violence.
He commended the people of Ekiti State for their cooperation with security personnel which he said was one of the factors that led to the success of the election.
The DIG announced that those arrested in connection with electoral fraud and few reported cases of violence would be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others.
