President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, to replace Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, who resigned his appointment on health grounds.

 

Justice Ariwoola, who the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court,
was born on 22 August 1958.

He was formerly a Justice of the Court of Appeal and was elevated to the Supreme Court bench.

Justice Ariwoola will be on acting capacity until the Senate confirms his nomination.
