Concerned parents have appealed to the Ondo state government to shift the secondary school common Entrance examination fixed for 2nd of July because it clashes with the Nigerian Navy secondary school Common entrance interview for prospective applicants into the school across the country also scheduled for the same day.
The parents made the appeal while speaking with Positive FM in Akure .
Some of them ,Mrs Moyo Ajagbe ,Mr Sunday ipinlaye and Mrs Bola Akinola said that the fact that Ondo state would be writing its common Entrance same day would deny the pupils opportunity to participate in the entrance examination.
They urged government to consider the students by shifting the state exam so that the children could participate in the nationwide exam.
According to Mrs Akinola, ” The Navy Secondary Schools Interview is a nation wide exercise, involving candidates from the 36 states of the federation, the Nigeria Navy will not postpone the interview just because of applicants from a state.
We appeal to our education loving and progress minded Governor to consider the plea of the concerned parents and postpone the common entrance by a week.”
For Mr Ipinlaye, ” admission into the Navy Secondary Schools is highly competitive, it would be a minus to our state if the prospective applicants fail to participate in the exercise.”
