Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Muhammed Akeera, has assumed office as the new AIG in charge of the Nigeria Police Force , Zone 17, Akure, comprising, Ondo and Ekiti states, with a pledge to flush out all criminal elements in the zone.
Akeera in a chat with newsmen promised that the police would cooperate with other security agencies to protect the lives and property of the people of the zone.
Akeera described the two states as peaceful and blessed, adding that the police would do everything to maintain the peace being enjoyed in both states.
The new AIG also solicited the cooperation of members of the public through volunteering of useful information about criminals to the police in the zone.
Muhammed Akeera takes over from retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ene Okon.
