The House Representatives has frowned at the failure of major stakeholders invited to appear before the investigative hearing organized to ascertain the daily consumption of premium motor spirit PMS in the country.

The speaker, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila expressed the displeasure while declaring open the investigative hearing at the National Assembly.

The Speaker, who was represented by the house deputy leader, Peter Apkatason, described the action as an attempt to frustrate the efforts of the legislature.

The chairman of the committee, Sa’ad Abdulkadir, stated that the house mandated the committee to ascertain the daily consumption of premium motor spirit PMS to ensure availability of the product as well as accountability of public funds.

Abdulkadir noted that the investigation became necessary to proffer a lasting solution to the recurring fuel scarcity in the country.

The committee thereafter summoned the GMD NNPC, the MD NPMC, the accountant general of the federation and the governor of the central bank of Nigeria to appear before it at it’s next meeting.

Others summoned include the ministers of the ministries of petroleum resources and finance and their permanent secretaries and the FIRS.
