Ekiti state Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has re-assured residents of the state that the International Cargo Airport currently under construction will be completed before the expiration of his administration in October this year.

Fayemi, who gave the assurance after inspection tour of the airport and other projects in Ado-Ekiti metropolis expressed delight at the level of work done, believing that the project would be completed to time .

“Let me re-assured Ekiti residents that the ongoing Cargo Airport and other legacy projects will be completed”

According to the Governor, while the 3.2km runway was constructed with the capacity to accommodate all shades of aircraft, the airport would also have facilities for airspace for the Nigeria Airforce to have their own operations as well as for maintenance and associated engineering components at
the airport.

He revealed that the various legacy projects put in place by his administration was aimed to completely change the character of the state by turning it to an economic zone.

Other projects inspected by the Governor included the Knowledge Zone, Harding Memorial College and one of the just completed Secretariat complexes which Dr Fayemi said would be inaugurateded before the end of his administration.
