Your Excellency,
I am compelled to write you this letter based on personal experience at University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital, Akure annex.
I took a relation to the facility on Monday 18th July, 2022 for urgent medical attention, unfortunately we couldnt get a doctor to attend to the patient who was already unconscious as there were very few doctors in the facility.
To worsen the case, the few doctors available were busy attending to other patients with critical issues too.
In order to save the life of the patient, we had to rush her to a private hospital somewhere within the town.
In my quest to inquire about situation of things at the hospital, i got feelers that on many occasions, residents do not get to see doctors to attend to them as only few were on duty.
I also got to know that patients that were due for surgical operations were told to go back or get referred to other hospitals on the reasons of NO DIESEL to run the hospital’s generator.
I’m using this medium to appeal to you sir to do something urgent about this ugly situation before it gets out of hand.
We know and appreciate your efforts in the area of security in ensuring that citizens of Ondo state sleep with their two eyes closed.
Sir, i’m passionately appealing that you should see to this matter and bring back the old glory of the teaching hospital when it was first inaugurated.
May God grant you the enablement and physical strength to accomplish this task so that Ondo State can remain an enviable state in Nigeria.
