Business and commercial were today paralyzed in Idanre as farmers trooped to the streets in large numbers to protest the planned takeover of the government forest reserve in the area.
Community reporter , Ganiyu Agbelusi reports that roads in Odode , Alade and Atosin were completely blocked as the farmers demonstrated peacefully.
Some of the protesters who spoke with Positive FM, Femi Olaiya , Solomon Akinwoleola , Bayo Akinyelure , Smart Aribigbola and Mrs Abike Akinlalu described the government planned takeover of their livelihood as callous.
Mr Clement Akinsohun and Niyi Akinseye insisted that the move would throw many young people who had taken to farming to the labour market which would eventually instigate crime among the frustrated ones.
The protesters again appealed to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to drop the planned takeover of their ancestral land in the interest of the people who voted for his administration and would continue to support the government.
