Ondo state governor Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has ordered the immediate dismissal of state workers who are intentionally receiving double salaries from the state payroll.
The governor stated this when he received the report of the committee on verification, scrutinization and clean up of state payroll, salaries and pension headed by a retired permanent secretary, Mr Victor Anjorin in his office.
The governor who frowned at the alarming number of ghost workers in various ministries and agencies despite the present economic downturn also ordered the immediate stoppage to distribution of new appointments or redeployments letters .
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Mr Olajorin said the state had lost fortunes to ghost workers .
He disclosed that other investigation included leave of absence without due permission while it was also discovered that some retired officers were still receiving salaries .
