An Enumerator of the National Population Commission has escaped Bandits’ attack while conducting trial Census at Tofa village in Rabah local government area of Sokoto state.
Confirming the incident, the state Director of the National Population Commission, Mallam Marafa Gagi who did not mention the name of the enumerator said it was one of the locals that rescued the officer by hiding him in his house up to the end of the attack.
Mallam Gagi said despite the development, the enumerator had continued his work in the area that is almost under the bandits control.
He commended the locals for their support and cooperation to their enumerators.
The trial Census is facing security challenges in the north west zone.
