The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria,BON, has appointed the General Manager, Pensioners’ FM, Ibadan, Oyo state, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu as the Assistant Secretary, Southwest Zone C of the organisation.
This was disclosed during a congratulatory visit by Dr. Tiamiyu to the newly appointed BON Southwest Zonal Chairman, Deacon Oladejo Owolabi at his Impact House office, Akobo Area, Ibadan.
Making the pronouncement during the visit, Deacon Owolabi who is also Chairman, Metropolitan Broadcasting Service, Ibadan, Oyo State described Dr. Tiamiyu as a thoroughbred Media Professional, whom he believed would play immense roles in his vision to reposition BON in the southwest Zone.
The Southwest Zone C chairman reiterated the need for professionalism in the media profession to show quacks the exit door.
‘’Broadcasting is actually about information, if you don’t inform the people, you deform them so we have this huge challenge on our laps, how do we ensure that we make real progress and the best way to go about it is to be sure people have access to quality information.’’ Owolabi said
On his part, Pensioners FM General Manager, Dr BABATUNDE TIAMIYU ,while accepting the new responsibility promised to work with Deacon Owolabi led new BON Southwest executive to give the organization its due respect among media owners in the Zone.
Responding, Pensioners’ FM General Manager, Dr Tiamiyu who had earlier told the media icon that he was in his office to congratulate him on his well deserved appointment, described Deacon Owolabi as a role model and a school to learn from in the media and business industry.
”On his appointment as the new chairman of Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria, Southwest Zone C, I came purposely to congratulate and rejoice with him on the new feat.
Since our paths crossed sometimes ago I have seen him as a role model, someone others can learn a lot from.”
Dr. Tiamiyu later presented a pictured frame to the media Icon on behalf of Pensioners Fm
Dr Tiamiyu prayed for the success of Deacon Owolabi and his team in the coming years.
