The Federal Capital Territory Administration has reopened the popular Millennium Park after two years of closure due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, with a call on residents to support the FCTA efforts aimed at transforming the city.

Declaring the park opened in Abuja, FCT Minister Malam Muhammad Musa Bello urged all those opposing the new FCTA park policy to have a rethink and support the Administration to revive the city to what it ought to be.

The Minister who used the medium to thank God Almighty for victory over the tough times orchestrated by COVID 19, however expressed worry that almost 95 percent of the parks Operators in the territory, have totally deviated from what was approved for them.

His words: “For us in the city this occasion today is more than just the reopening of the park but appreciating God Almighty for having taken us safely through all this difficult times.

The FCT Minister who was conducted round the parks to inspect the facilities, expressed satisfaction over the operational rules, the perimeter fence, lights, security post, the water falls, the children ‘s playground and most importantly, the toilets in the premisses of the Park.

Signposts with Inscriptions such as, keep the park clean, Don’t liter the park with waste, dispose your bottles and cans in the trash container properly, were mounted at various areas of the Park.
