Suspected Robbers have wreaked havoc at Ajipowo estate, along Ondo road in akure, burgling no fewer than thirteen shops and carting away goods worth millions of naira.

Our correspondent reports that occupants of the shops came to open their shops this morning but met their shops burgled with asbestos broken inside.

It was observed that the robbers broke into one of the shops in the complex from behind to gain access to other shops through the roofs, carrying all stolen items through the roofs.

Speaking with Positive fm in tears, some of the traders and artisans in the shops said the robbers carted away items such as generating sets, bags of Rice and other food stuffs , high cost of fabrics, many sets of shoes, exotic  drinks among others.

Some of them who were overwhelmed with grief, said they just stocked their shops through loans they obtained and had not started repayment.

Ajipowo estate is known to be zones of robbers as many  business owners have packed up due to various incidents of robbery witness in the community.

Some of the residents who spoke with our correspondent lamented what they described as lackadaisical attitudes of many landlords in addressing rate of crimes in Ajipowo Community.

Similar incident had occured at Ogundipe area of Ajipowo estate on Sunday during which robbers carted away valuable goods from about seven shops.

The traders who said the incident was the second in six months lamented that they bought the stolen goods through loans.
