Twenty Indigents students of St Thomas’s Anglican Comprehensive High School , STACHSA , Akure have benefitted from the scholarship awards instituted by the founder of the U.S based International Way of Life , Ministry ,Pastor Dr. David Osho.
At the award ceremony held in the school premises in Akure , Dr Osho who once worked as a teacher in the school said it was a way of giving back to the society.
Represented by an old student of the school , Pastor Remi Osho , Dr Osho pledged to make the award an annual event due to his passion for the down trodden in the society.
He observed that many parents could not afford their children school fees owing to the state of the economy hence the need to offer such support.
Earlier , the school principal , Mr Godson Lokoyi represented by the vice principal , academics , Mrs Victoria Tapere thanked the sponsor and appealed to other well meaning individuals as well as corporate organizations to emulate the gesture.
Speaking on behalf of the old students association of the school , Mrs Laide Otuyemi advised the students to be hardworking to secure their future.
Two of the students who benefitted from the awards , Ojo Arematan and Joy Ogunniyi expressed gratitude to Dr Osho with a promise to put in more efforts into their studies.
