The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, has charged officers and men of the Nigerian Army to remain non-partisan in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

 

General Yahaya gave the charge during the 23rd Combat Service Support 2022 Training Week at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps , Albati Barracks, Lagos.

General Yahaya urged the officers and men of the Army to be of good conduct before, during and after the elections, charging them to be highly professional in their conduct and activities.

The Army chief expressed optimism that the training would positively impact on the officers.

The Special guest of honour and Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde, urged the Nigerian Army to continue to train aggressively to sustain its combat readiness posture to contain current security challenges in the country.

 

The governor further remarked that as someone who knew the importance of efficient logistics in the operations of organizations, he was delighted with the capacity-building efforts of the Nigerian Army in line with international best practice

The four -day- training, with the theme: “Strengthening the Capacity of the Nigerian Army Combat Service Support Corps in Combating Contemporary Security Challenges in Joint Environment” had in attendance senior military officers, serving and retired; captains of industries; and traditional rulers
