Wife of Ondo state governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu says the present administration will continue to show great commitment to sports development in the state.
Mrs Akeredolu stated this at the launch of Summer Tennis Clinic in the Ondo Central Senatorial District, held at the Akure Recreation Center.
She explained that the Arabinrin Junior Tennis Clinic which often recorded impressive turnout had become a tripartite programme with branches in the Southern and Northern Senatorial districts of the state.
She noted that it had also become a platform for talent hunt having discovered great talents through the tennis clinic.
Mrs Akeredolu noted that after the first to the fourth editions of the annual summer tennis clinic in Akure, she deemed it fit to decentralize the programme for the benefit of children in the hinterlands.
The wife of the governor pointed out that the decision was to give children a sense of belonging and improve on their prospects as they advance in age and experience.
Mrs Akeredolu who noted that over 25 of the children had since excelled in Tennis assured parents of no regrets when they invest in them, particularly by buying sporting tools for them and finding time to take them out for practice with the goal to sustain greater results.
Speaking, the Coordinator of the Summer Tennis Clinic who is also the Special Assistant to the Governor on Gender, Mrs Olamide Falana noted that they would continue to invest in children already been identified through the summer tennis clinic.
In his goodwill message , the Tennis clinic coach, Mr Seun Betiku while appreciating the wife of the governor for grooming the talents explained that the summer tennis clinic would help them achieve their dreams of becoming professionals to represent Ondo State at regional, National and international levels.
