The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has accepted the resignation of the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako.
This is a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso says Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked the Commissioner for his services to the State and wished him success in his future endeavours.
According to the statement, the Governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any infraction, no matter who the perpetrators are.
Recently, issues of collapsed buildings in the State have been generating controversies.
On Sunday, a seven storey building under construction in Oniru area of the State collapsed.
So far, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA has extricated six bodies from the rubble.
