Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says Ondo State is ready to partner individual and groups supporting the education sector.
The governor spoke while inaugurating blocks of classrooms built by the old Students of Apostolic High School Ilara Mokin to mark the school’s golden jubilee.
Represented by the special Adviser on Education, Dr Wunmi Ilawole, Governor Akeredolu who appreciated the old Students for giving back to their Alma mater hinted that government had also renovated and constructed over eight hundred schools across the state
In a welcome address, the national president of the old Students association Dr Olufemi Aladegbaye disclosed that over twenty five million naira was expended on the new structure and implored government to assist in renovating the remaining dilapidated buildings in the school.
The school principal, Mrs Oluwakemi Akinjolire thanked the old Students calling for more philanthropic gestures to uplift the school.
The occasion witnessed presentation of awards to outstanding personalities including Mr Tunde Gbadamosi who renovated four classroom blocks in honour of his late mother, the first Alumni Principal, Mr Michael Adeyanju, associate professor, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko Dr Adedayo Afe and the founder of Elizade group of companies, chief Michael Adeojo.
Also , the old Students body through Elder Victor Adebusuyi of Owolowo Cooperative union awarded scholarship to the three best students in essay competition and payment of their NECO and JAMB examinations.
