The Kwara state Police Command has confirmed the killing of a twelve year old Yusuf Abubakar by his elder brother while testing the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective Charm in Kiama local government area of the state.
A statement by the command’s spokesman, Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin said on 2nd of October ,this year a report was recieved at Kaiama police station about the killing of one Yusuf Abubakar 12 yrs, by his elder brother Abubakar Abubakar.
According to the statement both the deceased are brothers and children of one Abubakar Abubakar, a hunter in Dutse Gogo town in Kaiama.
The statement explained that the incident occurred during the process of testing the efficacy of newly procured gunshot protective charm by the two brothers.
The statement noted that after the children had fortified themselves with the protective charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling, adding that the charm failed and the 12year old Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot.
The statement advised parents and guidance to monitor the activities of their children and avoid doing certain unsavory activities while their children watch, to prevent incidents of this nature.
