Ondo state government says it will continue to engage stakeholders at the state and local government levels to reduce the burden of boundary disputes and bring governance closer to the people.

Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa made the remark at the quarterly visit and interactive session with members of the local government boundary committees in Ondo central and North senatorial district held at the Akure south local government secretariat in Akure.

The local government boundary committees consisting of traditional leaders, security agencies and vice chairmen of local government areas, this time the turn of Ondo central and North senatorial district gathered here to interface and give reports of boundary activities in their domain.

The deputy Governor, lucky Aiyedatiwa said the program is set to intimate the committee members of their statutory roles in handling both inter local and community disputes within Ondo state.

The deputy Governor who was represented by the secretary of the Ondo state boundary commission, Surveyor Abiodun Owolabi assured of sustainability of the program to resolve and manage internal boundaries disputes to move the state forward.

Speaking on the functions of the local government boundary committees, the resource person, Surveyor Henry Adegbenro thanked the state government for bringing dividends of democracy more closer to the people.

He emphasized on proper management of boundary disputes and charged all stakeholders at the state and local level to continue to sustain the relative peace enjoyed in Ondo state.

There was question and answer session where participants expressed optimism that the meeting will be a continuous one that will resolve boundary disputes in the interest of the people.
