Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, has appointed 14,000 advisers and 359 liaison officers across the state less than eight months to the end of his tenure.

The 14,000 advisers will be in charge of the various political units in the state while the liaison officers will be in charge of the wards and local governments, Kelvin Ebiri, Wike’s spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the advisers will play a pivotal role in the administration.

He added that the appointments are with immediate effect.

“In addition to the 14,000 advisers, Governor Wike has also appointed 319 Ward Liaison Officers and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers,” Mr Ebiri said.

“The appointments are with immediate effect.”
