Kwara State Police Command says it has rescued ASP Ahmed Yusuf of IGP Monitoring Team attached to the State Command who was abducted in his house at Oloje area of Ilorin .
Spokesman of the command , Okasanmi Ajayi in a statement said the police officer was abducted on Tuesday October,11th this year by six armed hoodlums.
According to him the officer was rescued today at a bush border between Kwara and Oyo state.
Ajayi explained that the rescue mission became possible following the dispatched of the Command’s Tactical Teams, local Vigilante and hunters with support of the Oyo State Amotekun squad.
He noted that efforts by the combined team yielded the expected result as the kidnappers escaped and abandoned the abducted ASP .
Ajayi said the rescued ASP Ahmed Yusuf is currently undergoing medical examination, adding that he will be allowed to join his family as soon as he is confirmed fit by the police medical doctor.
