The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi has cautioned the elderly people to eat moderately and maintain consumption of balance diets towards achieving aging without ailments.
Oba Aladelusi gave the advice in Akure while declaring open distribution of food to over 1,200 elderly men and women which was organised by the Sunshine Food Bank Initiative in commemoration of this year’s World food day.
The monarch pointed out that those above 50 years old should be mindful of what they eat and avoid eating in large quantities to maintain good health.
Oba Aladelusi who commended the Sunshine Food Bank Initiative for giving back to Akure community at this time when hunger had ravaged the country, urged other Akure natives to emulate such gesture.
In a remark founder of the initiative, mr Kola Ogunsua said the NGO resolved to embark on the food distribution programme for the aged because of negative effects outrageous price of food stuffs had on many Nigerians.
Also Speaking a co-founder, Mr Ade Anjorin who pointed out that the initiative was not politically motivated added that the food distribution would be a continuous programme in the state capital.
