The Vote Not Fight Campaign Ambassador, Innocent Idibia, has called on Nigerian youths and political leaders to denounce electoral violence ahead of the 2023 general election.
Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface made the appeal in Abuja at the Northern Peace Conference on the 2023 elections.
The Award winning Musician emphasized the need for young Nigerians to be active participants in the nation’s electoral process and governance.
Innocent Idibia reiterated his commitment to advocating for peaceful elections, accountability and transparency in Good governance.
The Northern Peace Conference on the 2023 elections brought together chieftains of political parties, security experts, civil society organizations, INEC Commissioners and Peace Advocates to deliberate on how to achieve peaceful elections in 2023.
Also speaking at the conference, Chairman of INEC Professor Yakub Mahmoud, represented by Professor Abdullahi Zuru, explained that for the citizens to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general election, there was the need for the political actors to play according to the game.
The Spokespersman, Northern Elders Forum Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, while calling on Nigerians to come out to vote, said 2023 elections would determine the future of the country.
According to the Development Director, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, British High Commission, Chris Pycroft, the United Kingdom will continue to support Nigeria’s democratic system to improve its democracy.
