Police have arrested five persons for stripping and beating up a middle aged man, Femi Ajayi over allegation of illicit affair with a married woman in Irun Akoko, Akoko northwest local government area of Ondo State.
The 24yrs Old Ajayi, was accused of having an affair with the wife of a member of a group in the town.
Members of the group numbering fifteen were said to have ambushed Ajayi at a market place last weekend, beating him to a pop and stripped him naked.
He was later taken to an undisclosed hospital by some good samaritan’s.
According to some residents who spoke to positive fm, the incident was recorded and later went viral especially on the social media.
It was gathered that this later caught the attention of some human rights activists who insisted that the men who perpetrated the act should be tried for jungle justice.
Consequent upon this, Five members of the group namely Banji Alade. Gboyega Ariyo, Olumide Johnson, Femi Isobo and Ahmed Ikire were arrested while others are still at large.
Confirming the incident, the officer in charge of irun divisional police station, CSP Gbenga Ogunleye said the suspects would be charged to court after thorough investigation.
