Activities on the Abuja-Kaduna train service will now resume on Monday the 5th of December, after being shifted from Monday 28th of November to allow interested passengers access their National Identity numbers.
The Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Mr.Fidet Okhiria confirmed the resumption In a telephone chat with Radio Nigeria,
The earlier schedule of two return services remains for now ,which sees the first train leaving Idu station in Abuja at 9.45am,while the second train will leave at 3.30pm.
The Rigasa train station in Kaduna will see it’s first train leaving at 8 0 clock in the morning, while the second one will leave at 2pm.
According to the schedule, interested commuters can arrive at the various stations as early as 6.30 am to purchase their tickets.
The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Muazu Sambo in company of the Minister of Water Resources,Mr Suleiman Adamu had undertaken an inspection and trip from Abuja to Kaduna last Sunday where they gave assurances of adequate security.
Mr. Sambo further stressed that assessment train ride that tickets would only be accessed with verifiable National Identity numbers.
