The Federal Government has promised to accord priority to the welfare of ex-servicemen in line with their contribution to national and international peace .

The secretary to the government of the Federation ,SGF, Mr Boss Mustapha stated this during the unveiling of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem .

Speaking after being decorated with the emblem, Mr Boss Mustapha charged members of the Nigeria legion to engage in serious advocacy on how best to deal wth the issues of post conflict trauma being faced by members of the legion .

The SGF promised to work with the legion to create a data base of veterans and their various skills with a view to further engage them where necessary .

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Legion, Major General Abdullmalik Jibril represented by a special adviser , Mr Uche Uche who decried the increased number of vulnerable ex servicemen , said the legion now have more widow and wounded ex-servicemen to be taken care of.

Mr. Uche solicited for an employment quota for families of fallen heroes to enable them carry on with their lives.
