Ondo state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says over 800 million naira has been realized from tickets sales of motorcyclists in the last 11 months of year 2022.
Governor Akeredolu made this known at the raffle draw and distribution of gifts to Okada riders organized by the Ondo state internal revenue service ODIRS headquarters in Akure.
It was all smiles for Okada riders in Akure south local government area as they converged at the ODIRS hall to receive gifts in view of their contribution to the internally generated revenue of the state in year 2022.
Governor Akeredolu in his remarks lauded the consistency of okada riders in the daily purchase of tickets stressing that his administration will continue to provide enabling environment for motorcyclists in the state within the stipulated periods given to them.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy lucky Aiyedatiwa said the distribution of gifts will be replicated in other local government areas acknowledging the roles of motorcyclists in the improvement of revenue generation in the state.
The Chairman, state internal revenue service, Tolu Adegbie thanked Governor Akeredolu for rewarding motorcyclists which will serve as encouragement to do more in the year ahead.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on special duties and strategy, Dr Doyin odebowale appealed to all motorcyclists to exercise caution in their speed limits during the yuletide.
At the end of the raffle draw, Samuel Temitope won the star prize of a motorcycle while others received gifts of various sorts for contributing their quota to the development of the state.
