The ancient city of Ijare was agog on Thursday as the Olujare Palace fellowship in conjunction with Ijare Christian leaders organised service of six lessons and Carol hosted by the regent of the town, High Chief Joseph Omoosebi at the Oba’s palace.
Welcoming the dignitaries, High Chief Joseph Omoosebi appreciated all the invited guests.
He said Christmas should be a period of love because God sent his only begotten son to the world due to the love He has for His creatures.
High Chief Omoosebi advised christians to reciprocate the gesture by loving God and fellow human beings.
Different churches present at the event rendered beautiful carol songs in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
Among them were CAC Oke-Ayo Igbala, Ijare, Ogo Oluwatedo C&S Omi Oniyo, Ijare and Saint Micheal’s Anglican Church, Ijare.
Preaching at the carol service Pastor Jeremiah Akinrinlola of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Ayo Igbala, Ayetoro, Coordinating council, Ijare admonished christians to embrace one and another and ensure that those that have in surplus should remember the less privileged in the society by extending hands of fellowship to them in given to them food items and financial assistance.
Dignitaries that attended the carol service included, Chief Mrs Florence Aladesanmi, Osemowe of Ijare, Chief Ajisafe Oladimeji, Elejoka of Ijare, Reverend Ojifini Olowo , Venerable Jide Olasehinde, Pastor Jeremiah Akinrinlola, CAN Chairman, Ijare, Chief Kehinde Olujola, Balowu of Ijare, Chief Josiah Olowokere, Emila of Ijare, Chief Fabamiji Fasoore, Saloro of Ijare.
