Diasporans from Ondo State have been charged to invest in the development of the State.

 

Ondo State commissioner for Information Mrs. Bamidele Ademola Olateju gave the charge in a lecture at the Inauguration of Akure Primrose club held at the Dome in Akure.

Mrs. Ademola Olateju eulogised the leadership and members of the club for giving back to the society through investment in education.

In a remark , the Chairman Nigerians In Diaspora commission, NIDCOM , Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa identified with the club for being at the forefront of facilitating developmental programmes to the country and encouraged members not to relent.

In an address , the club Interim President , Mr. Kehinde Olateju explained that the club was formed by childhood friends of over forty years with the objective of giving back to their indigenous community of Akure .

 

In a good will message , Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu representated by the Commissioner for Culture Mr Wale Akinlosotu said Mr Governor expressed the governor’s delight with the activities of the club and enjoined them to influence foreign investments to the state.

Highlights of the event were presentation of scholarships awards worth one hundred thousand naira each to indigent students from selected secondary schools , Donation of food items and clothings to Children home and decoration of the club patron , Sir Patrick Omolayo

 

Dignitaries at the event included Deji of Akure ,Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo represented by High Chief Adegbonmire and Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Mr. Boye Ologbese.
