History was made on Monday in the ancient town of Isua in Akoko south East local government following the Inauguration of another Police secondary school, making it the second of such college in Ondo state after the one in Itaogbolu, Akure North Local Government Area.

 

With the establishment of the new school, Ondo state becomes the only state in the Southwest with two Police secondary schools

 

The school, donated by a philantropist and native of Isua Akoko, Mr Kayode Ogidan can boast of good classrooms ,well secured compound, hostels, hall and a medical centre.

 

Speaking during the Inauguration ceremony, Pioneer commandant of the school, Assistant superintendent of police, ASP Udugbezi Michael said police secondary schools were established and run by with the approval of the Insector General of police to cater for the children of police due to the huge task which their job entails.

 

He used the occasion to commend the efforts of the donor, Mr Ogidan for the gift of the entire school buildings to the police.

 

In a remak the donor, Mr Ogidan said wealthy individuals and corporate organizations must consider it a challenge, the need to join hands with government in providing infrastructure and other needs for the citizenry as government alone could not do it.

 

Mr Ogidan who frowned at the nonchalant attitude of the youths towards embracing trades, farming and other menial jobs for survival said the spirit of getting rich quickly through criminal means was becoming worrisome.

 

Mr Ogidan commended the inspector General of police for his approval while also commending a retired Commissioner of Police , Mr Ade Adewale for his involvement towards the approval of the school.

 

Also speaking, The olubaka of oka Akoko who was the royal guest at the occasion, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye commended the patriotic efforts of the donor, Mr ogidan and his efforts at bringing development to Isua and Akokoland

 

The monarch urged others indigenes to emulate him and bring more developments to Akokoland.

 

Dignitaries at the Inauguration ceremony included the Chairman Akoko South East local government, Mr Ade Adurogboye, The Olisua of Isua, oba Adesunloye Oyolola, The Owa of ogbagi Akoko, Oba Victor Adetona Olasehinde, the regent of Ifira, Princess Ade Olugboja and a host of others.
