The National Orientation Agency, NOA has advised Nigerians to deposit all their old naira notes before 31st of this month
The Ondo State NOA director, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu gave the advice during a motorised road show to sensitise the residents on the redesigned Naira notes in Akure.
Mrs Adefolalu explained that the old naira notes of 200, 500 and 1000 would stop to be legal tenders thus paving the ways for their newly redesigned Naira counterparts
The NOA Director hinged the CBN recent redesigned Naira notes on hoarding, increasing abduction and counterfeits, expiration of the currencies span and shortage of clean naira notes in the society
She advised the residents to visit banks and Point of Sales, POS to deposit the old currencies of ₦200, ₦500 and ₦1000 to the redesigned Naira notes
Mrs Adefolalu and the head, information and client service office, CBN, Mr Okafor Wallace maintained that it would be a waste for the citizens to have their hard earned currencies wasted hence the need for the timely change from the old currencies.
The motorized road show that commenced from Adegbemile through Oba Adesida road and Arakale terminated at NEPA roundabouts where flyers and posters were distributed was piloted by the officials of federal Road safety Corps.
