At least Two hundred and Sixty six(266) Vigilante and hunters have been trained by Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ahead of the 2023 General elections.
Speaking at the passing out parade of the trainees in Baruten , Kwara State, Commandant of the Corps , Muhammed Tukur, advised residents of the state to shun all acts capable of truncating the forthcoming election.
Represented by the Corps Area Commander in Baruten, Muntari Zakari the Commandant declared the readiness of all security agencies in the State to ensure a hitch free general election.
Tukur appealed to all residents to contribute their quota towards ensuring safety and security.
The commandant noted that the security empowerment put in place by the Corps for vigilante and hunters was meant to empower them so that they could complement the efforts of security agencies in their various communities.
