The Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi has promised to turn Sambisa Forest in the North East into a huge farmland with the potential to boost agro export.
He stated this during his campaign rally at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki.
Mr Obi who was accompanied by his wife, Margret and the Chairman of his party, Mr Julius Abure identified insecurity and corruption as the bane of the nation’s underdevelopment and promised to tackle them headlong.
He noted that South East would be repositioned to be the manufacturing hub of the country while Ebonyi would be assisted to realize it’s potential in rice production.
According to Mr Obi, Akanuibiam International Airport will be developed to standard and serve as the gate way for travellers from the South East.
The Governorship Candidate of the Party in the state, Dr Edward Nkwegu told Radio Nigeria that he was impressed with the massive crowd that came out to welcome Mr Obi which showed that Labour Party was ready to take over the government in Ebonyi.
